Tour de Forage Set For January 20-22

Re-Evaluating the How & Why of Cover Crops, Corn Silage After the BMR Era, and Alfalfa & You: Food, Health, & Beauty are just a few of the many presentations offered at Midwest Forage Association’s (MFA) Tour de Forage held in locations throughout Minnesota on Tuesday through Thursday, January 20-22. Dr. Jo Heuschele, research agronomist at the USDA-ARS St. Paul Plant Science Research Unit, is the keynote speaker. Dr. Heuschele’s lab uses physics, plant physiology, biochemistry and genetics to study plant movement, forage quality and nutrition.

“MFA’s Tour de Forage brings research and real-world experience together in a way that’s meaningful for farmers,” said Beth Nelson, MFA President. “With experts from Extension, USDA-ARS, and industry, this year’s program will address the diverse forage challenges and opportunities across Minnesota.”

Tour de Forage (TDF) dates and locations:

  • Tuesday, January 20, Floodwood, MN (The Event Center)
  • Wednesday, January 21, Little Falls, MN (Morrison County Board Room)
  • Thursday, January 22, Rochester, MN (Aune Hall)

Take advantage of discounted pre-registration, ending January 14 – on-site registration is available but costs more. Register today at midwestforage.org/mnwintermtgs.php.

Midwest Forage Association is hosting this popular, annual series of meetings in collaboration with University of Minnesota Extension and northeast, central, and southeast local forage councils. Agendas vary by location so visit midwestforage.org for site-specific programs.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about forages, network with industry professionals, and have your forage-related questions answered. Lunch will be served; preregistration is appreciated. Proceedings are included with registration and include all TDF speakers.

To register, please visit www.midwestforage.org or contact MFA at 651.484.3888.
