Foremost Farms USA is pleased to announce the finalization of its strategic sale of the foodservice cheese business. This is including the 1950-127 brand and related manufacturing equipment, to Wisconsin Dairy Distributing (WDD), headquartered in Waupun, Wisconsin.
This transaction marks a pivotal moment in Foremost Farms’ continued focus on core strengths in bulk cheese production. As part of the agreement, Foremost Farms will supply bulk cheese to WDD under a formal cheese supply agreement, ensuring consistent quality and performance in finished goods.
Several Foremost Farms sales representatives have joined WDD and are supporting customers through this transition, which is currently taking place.
Reflecting the strong community values behind this partnership, Foremost Farms & WDD donated 20,000 pounds of cheese this month to four regional hunger-relief organizations in Wisconsin and Michigan.

The history behind 1950-127……the Marshfield cheese plant of Consolidated Badger Cooperative, then Morning Glory Farms Cooperative, then AMPI-Morning Glory Farms, then Foremost Farms USA produced 40 pound blocks of cheddar cheese with the Wisconsin inspection stamp of 1950-127. A significant group of customers were the Greek owned pizza restaurants primarily in the the Boston area which used white cheddar on their pizzas. Most of the Greek owner-operators did not read “English” on the boxes, but the numbers. So they ordered cheese by 1950-127. The Badger-Morning Glory marketing folks saw this as an opportunity…….the rest is history as it became an established “brand” expanding to a full product list.
