Creating World Dairy Expo Showring Success

The hustle and bustle of the World Dairy Expo show ring is truly a sight to marvel, and it doesn’t happen over night. From the barns to the showring, countless people play a part in making the show run smoothly. Each person plays a crucial role, and the action in the showring wouldn’t happen without them.

World Dairy Expo Digital Marketing Specialist, Haley Beukema, spent many hours preparing for “The Road To Madison.” Each Expo theme is carefully crafted and perfected over an 18 month time period. For her first World Dairy Expo on staff, Haley was tasked with designing backdrops and putting the finishing touches on the showring.

It’s more than clicking a button when it comes to taking pictures of cattle at World Dairy Expo. Julie Ashton is the General manager of Cowsmopoliton. She coordinates a crew of nearly 10 people. She tasks them with meticulously capturing a picture of each animal that walks through the showring.

It requires a lot of hard work and skill to get a dairy animal ready for the showring. Joé Lapage found himself in Madison doing just that for the Blondin showstring. He has been honing his craft for 5 years, 4 of which, he has spent with Blondin. Truly an artform, he tells us what he is trying to accomplish when fitting animals and what a typical showday looks like.
