Soybean Growers Can Vote Through Aug. 15

Soybean producers in three Wisconsin districts have until Aug. 15 to vote in the Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board election. The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is mailing ballots to eligible growers on July 10.

Three of the seven districts have open seats this year, each with one nominee:

  • District 3: David Justman of Platteville (Adams, Crawford, Grant, Juneau, La Crosse, Monroe, Richland, Sauk, Vernon counties)
  • District 4: Jonathan Gibbs of Fox Lake (Columbia, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, Waushara, Winnebago counties)
  • District 5: Patrick M. Mullooly of Clinton (Dane, Green, Iowa, Lafayette, Rock counties)

Eligible growers who have not received a ballot by July 25 should contact DATCP’s Market Orders Program at [email protected] to request one. Ballots must be signed and postmarked by Aug. 15 to be counted. Unsigned ballots will be disqualified.

Elected board members will serve three-year terms beginning Sep. 1. DATCP oversees elections for all Wisconsin commodity marketing boards.
