Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative is investing in the next generation through its annual scholarship program. This year, five students received $2,000 scholarships to support their educational goals. Two of the scholarships went to students currently enrolled in college. Three were awarded to graduating high school seniors.
“At Edge, it’s a great honor to support our members’ families and students,” said Tim Trotter, Edge CEO. He added that the cooperative hopes students feel encouraged to gain valuable skills they can use in life and farming.
The 2025 Edge scholarship recipients include:
- Samia Gonzalez-Quizhpe of Waupaca, Wis., who plans to study nursing.
- Owen Klussendorf of Medford, Wis., who will attend UW–River Falls for the Farm and Industry Short Course in dairy herd management.
- Jacob Treml of Casco, Wis., who will study heavy equipment diesel mechanics at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.
- Chloe Breunig of Sheboygan Falls, Wis., a sophomore at UW–Madison studying dairy science with plans to manage her family’s dairy farm.
- Kate Pasanen of Exeland, Wis., who is studying dairy science and ag business at UW–River Falls and plans to return to her family’s farm.
Each student is a dependent of an Edge member and showed strong academic success, leadership, community involvement, and career focus.
