Meet the Farmers Behind Your Food

On Saturday, July 12, 2025, 14 family farms will welcome visitors during the Apple River Farm Tour. This one-day, self-guided event offers a chance to explore local agriculture in and around Amery and River Falls, Wisconsin.

“Our farm community is eager to welcome visitors,” said Dave Engen, Farm Table Foundation President and Meadow Hill Farm owner.

Each farm will offer unique experiences like guided tours, scenic trail walks, kids’ crafts, games, and animal encounters. Visitors can meet pigs, sheep, and bees while learning how local farmers care for animals and land. Tasty samples and fresh farm products will be available, including cheeses, meats, vegetables, mushrooms, berries, and herbs. Guests can also browse handmade goods and enjoy local foods made by nearby artisans and vendors. The farms are located just minutes from each other, making it easy to visit several stops in one day.

“The Apple River Farm Tour connects people with local farms, makers, and small-town businesses,” said Kimberly Castagnetta, Bittersweet Homestead owner.

Visitors are encouraged to plan their day using the downloadable brochure and interactive map at appleriverfarmtour.com.
