
Farmers are getting close to the end of the spring planting season. This week’s Crop Progress Report shows 87% of the nation’s corn is now planted with major corn growing states like Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri all at least 95% planted. The only major corn growing state that is behind this spring is Illinois with just 82% of their corn in. Farmers also have 76% of the nation’s soybeans planted—well ahead of last year and the 5 year average. Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska all have over 90% of their soybeans planted while Illinois is a little behind with 75% of their beans planted.
