Meet The New Wisconsin Pork Intern

The Wisconsin Pork Association is excited to announce that Brayden Peter will join the team as the summer intern beginning June 2. Originally from Howards Grove, Brayden is a junior at UW-Platteville.

He’s pursuing dual degrees in animal science and agricultural business. Brayden’s agricultural roots run
deep as he was raised on his family’s show pig operation and is also employed at the university’s Swine Center. His love for agriculture encouraged him to become involved in 4-H and FFA at a young age. Today, he is the president of UW-Platteville’s Block and Bridle Club and an active member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity.

He says he’s eager to learn more about the pork industry, specifically noting he wants to gain professional leadership and communication skills, educate consumers about the swine industry, and learn how to best
promote pork and protect the state’s right to farm.

Brayden will serve as the official youth representative of the Wisconsin Pork Association. During his internship, he will focus on marketing and promoting the pork industry in our state. More specifically his duties will include helping coordinate state fair events such as Pork Schoppe and Hall of Fame, promote and implement producer programming, job shadow industry stakeholders, enhance youth programs, develop and execute a special project, interact with producers and allied industry members, and create a final presentation upon completion of his internship.
