Be a Voice for Organic Agriculture: Apply for the OAC

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is accepting nominations for the Wisconsin Organic Advisory Council (OAC) until March 31, 2025. The council has openings for organic farmers, organic businesses, organic consumers, and at-large representatives. Members serve three-year terms and meet at least four times per year.

A committee of DATCP staff and current OAC members will review nominees and recommend appointments to DATCP Secretary Randy Romanski. Newly appointed members will begin their terms at the July 2025 council meeting.

Nominees should explain how their experience would benefit the council. Completed nomination forms must be submitted by mail to Cassi Miller at DATCP, P.O. Box 8911, Madison, WI 53708, or emailed to [email protected] by March 31, 2025.

For nomination materials and more details, visit DATCP’s website.

About the Wisconsin Organic Advisory Council

The Wisconsin Organic Advisory Council helps maintain Wisconsin’s leadership in organic agriculture. The council advises the DATCP Secretary and other organizations on organic production, processing, and purchasing opportunities.

The council consists of 12 members:

  • Three certified organic farmers representing different farm types
  • Three organic business representatives
  • One organic consumer representative
  • One representative from a nonprofit organization involved in organic agriculture
  • One organic certification industry representative
  • Three at-large members

By bringing together public and private resources, the council supports Wisconsin’s organic industry and ensures continued growth in the sector.
