Whether you’ve got 3,000 cows or three chickens, the Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium is reminding you to renew your livestock premises registration.
Every three years, WLIC renews all active registrations to help ensure that registration information remains up-to-date. Executive Director Julie Sweney says it’s vital for the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection to have up-to-date contacts during an animal disease outbreak.
By law, livestock registrations must be renewed by July 31, 2025. Anyone who contacts WLIC to update their information is considered renewed for the next three years until the next renewal cycle.
New to this renewal cycle is a website specific to WLIC’s renewal campaign. Here, livestock owners can review their existing premises using information they receive via email from DATCP. These emails are going out now, so registrants should watch their inbox.
For anyone eager to renew, they can still go to WLIC’s website to renew their registration: https://wiid.org/
Or call WLIC at 888-808-1910.
