The UW-Madison Division of Extension invites cattle producers and allied industry to a virtual meeting to discuss the transition to using electronic identification (EID) for disease traceability.
Gretchen May, Veterinary Program Manager, at the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is the speaker.
Cattle producers will be able to ask questions about EID tags and the requirements for using them that go into effect on Nov. 5.
Julie Sweney, executive director of the Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium, will also discuss how premises registration and official identification aid disease traceability in the event of an animal disease impacting Wisconsin.
This 1-hour virtual meeting will take place Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.
