The Wisconsin Ag Coalition’s regional “Engage with Agriculture Series” events allow candidates running for state office this fall to visit farms, agri-businesses, and agricultural processing facilities.
These tours give potential lawmakers first-hand insight into modern agricultural production and practices, explains Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation Director of Government Relations Jason Mugnaini.
Mugnaini says the goal is to inspire policymakers to advocate for initiatives promoting a vibrant, sustainable agricultural landscape, support rural communities, and contribute to feeding and fueling Wisconsin.
This week’s Dane County tour took roughly a half dozen candidates to Bayer Crop Science in DeForest and Haag Dairy in Dane. It was the fourth stop in a series of 12 around the state.
