The future of soy is bright. Be a part of the next generation of Wisconsin agriculture leaders by applying for the 2025 ASA Corteva Agriscience Young Leader Program.
As a member of the American Soybean Association (ASA), the Wisconsin Soybean Association (WSA) is searching for growers to represent Wisconsin soybean farmers and apply. Applications are now open through Sept. 20, 2024.
“Fostering the next generation of soybean leaders is an integral part of WSA’s work to ensure that sound policies are in place to enhance the future of soybean farming,” WSA President Sara Stelter said. “The Young Leader program is an excellent opportunity to ease growers into the soybean world. It helps to mentor them and also set them up for future success. Please consider applying.”
Phase I of the 2024-2025 Young Leader program will take place Dec. 2-5 at Corteva’s Global Business Center in Johnston, Iowa. It continues Feb. 28-March 4, 2025, in Denver in conjunction with the annual Commodity Classic Convention and Trade Show.
“For more than 40 years the Young Leader program has helped identify and train soybean farmers to be leaders in the industry,” said ASA President Josh Gackle. “The program has had a tremendous impact on soybean advocacy. You will find graduates of the program in various positions throughout the industry. Five members of the current ASA Executive Committee are graduates of the program.”
The program encourages soybean growers—both individuals and couples—to apply. It focuses on leadership and communication, agricultural trends and information, and the development of a strong, connected network. The program invites growers of any age to apply, especially those early in their leadership careers.
“The program is so well put together – I enjoyed all of it,” said Danny Brisky, who represented Wisconsin in the 2023-24 Young Leader program and earned a selection to the program’s third portion in July 2024 in Washington, D.C. “Don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and take a risk. It’ll help build your confidence and make you more well-rounded to handle different situations.”
