The Food + Farm Exploration Center continues preparations for community U-Pick Days.
After a hands-on and educational day planting sweet corn on May 18, the center is hosting more planting days on June 1 and June 15. From 9-11 a.m., Food + Farm will plant peas, cucumbers, and green beans, weather permitting.
The community is invited to get their hands in the soil and learn more about where food comes from. Then, explore the Ag STEM gallery to continue your journey on how your food gets to your table.
After the planting demonstration, agricultural staff members will be available for educational opportunities. Visitors are encouraged to ask questions about the process, equipment, soil, and everything else that goes into cultivating the vegetables we grow here in central Wisconsin.
This experience will be included with the purchase of a general admission ticket. The exploration center is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
