The Mid-West Farm Report Radio Network is pleased to welcome Aubrey Schlimgen as a summer intern.
Schlimgen comes from a dairy farm in Marshall, where she milks about 300 Jerseys and Holsteins. Her agricultural roots extended into extracurricular clubs, such as 4-H and FFA. What started as showing livestock at county fairs grew into leadership roles. Schlimgen served as Dane County Fairest of the Fair and the Wisconsin State FFA Sentinel. She was Wisconsin’s National FFA Officer Candidate in 2023.
As to why she wanted to try out farm broadcasting, Schlimgen says she wanted to be the voice that she relied on as a farm kid.
“I’ve always had a passion for storytelling and agriculture,” she says. “Mid-West Farm Report was a voice for rural Wisconsin and the farming industry, and I wanted to give back by being a part of the team.”
Schlimgen joins Pam Jahnke, Stephanie Hoff, and Charitee Seebecker. This summer, she will work with the team to cover events and generate content. She looks forward to gaining experience in multiple forms of communication.
Her internship experience is supported by a grant from the National Association of Farm Broadcasting Foundation.
