Milk Prices Are Down

Milk Prices Are Down

The Wisconsin all milk price for April 2023 was $20.40 per hundredweight (cwt) according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Agricultural Prices report.

This was 10 cents below last month’s price and $6.70 below last April’s price.

The U.S. all milk price for April was $20.70 per cwt, 30 cents higher than Wisconsin’s price but 40 cents lower than last month’s U.S. price.

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange 40‐pound block cheese price closed at $1.4200 per pound on May 31, while barrels were $1.4975 per pound. The CME butter price was $2.4550 per pound.

For the week ending May 20, the Agricultural Marketing Service U.S. weekly 40‐pound block cheese price averaged $1.71 per pound, and 500-pound barrels adjusted to 38 percent moisture averaged $1.57 per pound. The U.S. butter price averaged $2.44 per pound.
