Wisconsin Cherry Acres Increase

Wisconsin Cherry Acres Increase

Wisconsin tart cherry production totaled 12.9 million pounds in 2022, up 23 percent from 2021 production levels, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Wisconsin’s bearing acreage was estimated at 1,700 acres, up 300 acres from last year. Average yield per acre, at 7,590 pounds, was up 90 pounds from last year. The overall average price decreased 41.7 cents per pound to 20.3 cents per pound in 2022. The value of Wisconsin’s utilized tart cherry crop totaled $2.63 million in 2022.
