Results Broadcasting’s Family of Radio Stations announced the 39th Annual Farm Woman of the Year at their studios in Shawano, Wisconsin. The 2023 Farm Woman of the Year winner is Samantha Bulger-Posbrig of Green Valley, Wisconsin.
Results Broadcasting’s 4 local radio stations, “Shawano’s Greatest Country” WTCH-AM 960 & 96.1 FM; “B99.3-The Rock Station” 99.3 FM WOWN; “The Franchise Sports Radio 94.9 FM-96.5 FM-AM 1380” WOTE; “Frog 92.3-Hit Country” 92.3 FM WJMQ; gave their listeners an opportunity to nominate area farm women who they thought would be most deserving of this award.
This year’s Farm Woman of the Year has operated Posbrig’s Ponderosa since 2010 and consists of cross-bred and feeder-finish cattle, hogs, goats, sheep, and chickens. Samantha and her husband, Wayne, own 103 acres of land and rent an additional 15 acres. In 2019, they started another business venture – ag lime sales and spreading. Samantha has 6 children: Kelli, Faith, Jenna, Wayne Jr., Dean, and Grant.
Results Broadcasting General Manager, Eric Voight, stated, “Samantha’s dedication and involvement with the management of their operation, her ag business, her family, and many farm related organizations in the community brought her nomination to the top of the list.”
The special broadcast featured this year’s Farm Woman of the Year sponsors, Posbrig’s family, Farm Woman of the Year supporters, and representatives from the radio stations. Samantha received many gifts from Farm Woman of the Year sponsors, an engraved plaque, and $500 from Farm Director, Pam Jahnke.
Samantha was nominated by three separate individuals. Her friends, Deanne Van Rens and Angie Schultz, and daughter, Faith Posbrig.
Voight added, “In partnership with farmers throughout Northeast Wisconsin and in dedication of serving our listeners, the radio stations are proud to continue to promote farming and being a loyal friend of the farmer.”
