
The production of Wisconsin’s field and miscellaneous crops was valued at $6.11 billion in 2022, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. This latest report shows that figure is up 6 percent from 2021.
The value of corn for grain production totaled $3.41 billion, up 5 percent from the previous year. Wisconsin’s corn price averaged $6.25 per bushel, 25 cents above the last marketing year. As of 8:05 a.m. on March 2, December 2023 new crop corn is trading at $5.70 and three quarters from Chicago.
The value of soybean production was $1.61 billion, up 12 percent from 2021. The average price increased $1.20 from the previous year to $13.90 per bushel. As of 8:05 a.m. on March 2, November 2023 new crop beans are trading at 13.57 and a quarter.
Value of production increased from 2021 to 2022 for oats, potatoes, rye and winter wheat. Value of production decreased from 2021 to 2022 for barley, alfalfa hay and other hay.
