There are many scholarships available to high school seniors and college students through the Wisconsin Pork Association, National Pork Producers Council, and local pork producer groups. A description of each scholarship is listed below:
Lois Britt Memorial Scholarship — Due Jan. 3
The CME Group and NPIF sponsor these scholarships. They are awarded to students who intend to pursue a career in the pork industry with hopes that they may emerge as future pork industry leaders themselves. Ten $2,500 scholarships are available — visit https://nppc.org/britt-scholarship/
Neil Dierks Scholarship — Due Jan. 3
The National Pork Industry Foundation is pleased to announce the 2023 Neil Dierks Scholarship, which is sponsored by the National Pork Industry Foundation and is managed and administered by the National Pork Producers Council. One $5,000 scholarship is annually awarded to a student who intends to pursue a career in the pork industry with hopes that they may emerge as a future pork industry leader. Southwest Wisconsin Pork Producers Scholarship — Due April 1
This scholarship is awarded to a high school or college student from either Iowa, Grant or Lafayette County who has a vested interest in agriculture and preferably the swine industry. It’s a $1,000 scholarship.
