The Wisconsin Dairy Alliance (WDA) and Venture Dairy Cooperative (VDC) are proud to announce their endorsement for Senator Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green). WDA and VDC joined seven other agricultural organizations in their endorsement at an event for Marklein Tuesday evening.
“Senator Marklein is a relentless and unapologetic champion for farmers in Wisconsin. The 17th Senate District is fortunate to be represented by Senator Marklein. He understands that Wisconsin farmers feed the world and he is not afraid to stand up for farms of all sizes. Wisconsin Dairy Alliance proudly endorses Senator Marklein for reelection and we look forward to working with him to enact reforms to uphold Wisconsin as the Dairy State,” said Cindy Leitner, President of the Wisconsin Dairy Alliance.
“CAFOs are constantly under attack by the media, local government, activists and even policymakers at the State Capitol. This is why it is critical that we have Senator Howard Marklein in the Wisconsin Legislature. From his leadership on the powerful Joint Finance Committee to his vital role on the Senate Ag Committee, Senator Marklein has made clear that he understands issues important to farmers and rural communities. We are grateful for his leadership and look forward to another Marklein term,” said Kim Bremmer, Executive Director of Venture Dairy Coop.
Howard Marklein represents the 17th Senate District which is comprised of a number of southwestern counties including Grant, Lafayette, Juneau and Richland counties as well as western Sauk County, western Iowa County, southwest Green County and parts of eastern Vernon County and southeast Monroe County. The 17th District is often considered the most agricultural-dependent district in Wisconsin. The election takes place Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
