Popcorn has always been a favorite snack for many, and today there are some wild (and mouth-watering) flavors that people can test out. However, one local popcorn retail shop has found that sticking to the classics is what draws folks in from all across the country.
Melissa Trecek is the Manager of Retail Brand Strategy with Rural Route 1 Popcorn out of Montfort. She shares more about the history of the business and explains more about their products and flavors.
“We have our tried and true classics that everyone knows and loves,” says Trecek. The company sticks to classic chocolate, cheese, and caramel flavors. Many of the flavors date back to their creation in the founder’s kitchen.
Trecek has found that sticking to the basics has helped the company weather the supply chain disruptions felt by everyone. Some substitutions have been made with ingredients to continue to provide those classic flavors that they are known for.
Another unique aspect of the business is that their product is grown locally by Biddick Inc.
“We grow our own popcorn, so it’s really a local feel,” adds Trecek. “It’s something that we all are proud of in this rural area.”
