Fall is quickly approaching, and colleges across the state are gearing up to welcome students back for the year. With that comes exciting new programs and opportunities for students to enjoy.
Dr. Dale Gallenberg is the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Food, and Environmental Sciences at UW-River Falls. He shares how enrollment is looking for the fall and highlights a brand new international program that will be introduced this fall.
Dean Gallenberg says that enrollment is looking to be around 1,300 students in CAFES. Enrollment for the college has experienced a downward trend upon returning from the pandemic, but Dean Gallenberg shares that new student numbers for this fall are promising.
Among young Agricultural Engineering programs, Dean Gallenberg shares that a new international program will be introduced this fall. International Food Operations Management is a dual degree program in conjunction with Aeres University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. Students from both universities will have the opportunity to spend a year studying abroad in the partner university.
Aside from the new international opportunity, Dean Gallenberg plans to bring back more hands-on opportunities for students.
“We certainly see continued use of… opportunities for students to learn outside the classroom in a hands-on mode,” says Dean Gallenberg. “The things that made us popular as a choice for students pre-pandemic are going to come back around and make us popular again post-pandemic.”
