FISC Reunion Set For July 12th

Alumni and friends of the UW-Madison Farm and Industry Short Course (FISC) program are invited to register for the annual reunion event. American Foods Group and Compeer Financial will be the lead sponsors for the event. This year’s event will be held in conjunction with the WALSAA Summer Picnic during Wisconsin Farm Technology Days. The reunion will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. with the formal program beginning at 5:30 p.m. FISC alumni and supporters are encouraged to bring others who might have an interest in supporting the FISC Program. The program will be Tuesday, July 12 at Marshfield Ag Research Station, 208356 Drake Avenue N, Stratford.

The reunion is coordinated by a committee of volunteers from the Wisconsin Agricultural and Life Sciences Alumni Association (WALSAA). WALSAA will present awards for the Friend of Short Course and Service to Agriculture. “UW-Madison’s Farm and Industry Short Course has received great support over the years from many passionate individuals,” shares WALSAA FISC Committee Chair Brittney Muenster. “On behalf of FISC and WALSAA we’re proud to award Amy Loudenbeck with our Service to Agriculture Award and Pam Jahnke with our Friend of FISC award. As a pillar industry of Wisconsin, Agriculture touches many lives on a daily basis and we can’t express our gratitude enough for those individuals who help extend our reach.” Recipients of the Excellence in Teaching previously awarded at the CALS Awards Banquet on May 4 will also be recognized. Congratulations to J.S. Donald Excellence in Teaching award recipients, Jennifer Blazek and Eric Ronk!

There will be a 50/50 raffle to help raise scholarship funds for deserving FISC students. Registration cost is $15 if received by June 25 and $20 thereafter. Register and pay at www.WALSAA.org. Registrations are also accepted at the door, but advance registration is appreciated.
