So far so good – that’s the message from a Barneveld berry grower even after the spring has been touch and go with the weather. He predicts the berry crop will be good this year, as long as there is the right amount of moisture.
Ed Bures from Bures Berry Patch says that this year’s strawberry crop will be later than usual, at almost two weeks behind.
If you are planning to head to the patch and pick your own strawberries, check with your local grower to see when they will open. Bures says that the state of each patch will depend on their local environment, which varies across Wisconsin.
