What do spa bathrooms, table salt and mineral blocks all have in common? They can all be made of the same ingredient: Himalayan pink salt.
Clayton Shimetz is the general manager of Miracle Salt Collective based in southeastern Wisconsin. The company’s salt product reaches markets in health, décor and food, but agriculture is their largest customer base. The salt blocks act as a mineral and salt solution in one.
Shimetz tells Mid-West Farm Report all about the product, its source and its supply chain.
Found in the Himalayan gateway in Pakistan, this supposed “miracle” salt provides opportunities for clean air in the home and serves as a rich source of minerals for livestock.
Shimetz says that this pink salt truly has no downside. The salt is extremely pure and is enriched with naturally occurring minerals.
He adds that the pink salt has no additives. After it is mined, it is simply washed with water and cut into the end product for the desired use. Livestock owners can use the blocks of this pink salt as salt licks and mineral blocks. According to Shimetz, the salt blocks can also serve as a strong attractant for wildlife.
The salt also cleans the air by attracting toxins. There are a wide variety of pink salt products that can be used in the home, but its richness and purity could make it a “miracle” salt for livestock.
