The Sauk Prairie FFA chapter will break ground on June 17th after raising over $11,500 for their new greenhouse built in memory of their late FFA advisor Jeff Hicken
BJ Chrisler, FFA Advisor and past member of the Sauk Prairie FFA, says Jeff Hicken built Sauk Prairie’s first modern, automated greenhouse. He says Jeff came to mind when designing their new greenhouse, after students outgrew the old space.
The new learning center will be fully ADA accessible, and focus on electronics and student development. BJ says that the greenhouse will source food grown on property for their school’s hot lunch program.
The greenhouse will serve as an educational center that will have long lasting impacts beyond Sauk Prairie, says BJ, once students take what they learn to their next chapter in life.
