Allison Lund has joined the Mid-West Farm Report team as a summer intern. She just wrapped up her second year at Purdue University, where she is majoring in Agricultural Communication with a minor in Crop Science. At Purdue, Lund is in the Dean’s Scholars program in the College of Agriculture, and she is the Treasurer for the Purdue chapter of the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow. She has also had the opportunity to write several stories for Indiana Prairie Farmer magazine while at school. After graduation, Lund hopes to pursue a career in agricultural journalism.
Lund’s roots are in Cambridge, Wisconsin, where her family runs a cash grain operation with some beef cattle. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 2020 and was heavily involved in FFA during her time there. Aside from working on the family farm, where Lund helps with the farm’s tobacco production, she also raises Boer goats as a project that she began through FFA in high school.
This summer, Lund will be working with the Mid-West Farm Report team to help share news, cover events, and generate content. She looks forward to gaining experience in multiple forms of communication and expanding upon the print content that she has previously created. Her internship experience is supported by a grant from the National Association of Farm Broadcasting Foundation.
Lund is excited to travel around the state this summer and help to keep people updated on Wisconsin agriculture. She is excited to meet lots of new people and hear about their experiences during her time with Mid-West Farm Report.
