There’s been a lot of fresh attention paid to the Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium(WLIC) since avian influenza reappeared in the state. That’s because WLIC is the information service that collects the locations of all poultry/fowl/fish ponds/hooved animals, etc. that live in the state. The goal – protecting the state’s animal/bird agriculture and also protecting the value of the products produced from those animals.
Jodie Legge, Executive Director of WLIC, spoke with Pam Jahnke about the new Premise Identification requests she’s been fielding, and what people need to know about the consortium.
WLIC will host its annual member meeting via Zoom on Thursday, April 28, 2022, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Please register for the meeting in advance by Friday, April 22nd at noon. All those registered will receive a Zoom link and meeting materials via email on Friday afternoon, April 22nd.
During the meeting, members will hear from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture staff, and will also hear a recap of WLIC’s 2021 activities and financial results.
Similar to last year, all elections will take place prior to the meeting. All members in good standing are eligible to vote. Voting is available online at: https://wiid.org/annual-meeting-2022/. Please submit your ballot no later than Monday, April 25th.
