Best-Kept-Secret Presents Scholarships

Five students accepted into the 2022 PDPW Cornerstone Dairy Academy™ were awarded scholarships from the Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation (WROF). Recipients include Heather Griesmer, Rubicon, Wis.; Julio Orsini, Baldwin; Wis.; Richard Schultz; Palmyra, Wis.; Michelle Stangler, Watertown, Wis., and Amanda Williams, Shawano, Wis.

“Though the Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation is kind of a ‘best-kept secret,’ we’re able to provide scholarships and even loans to those who plan to return to their rural community to serve,” said Joan Behr, WROF president. “Our scholarships have not only helped rural educators, veterinarians, and other agricultural producers and skilled-labor workers but also medical doctors, nurse practitioners and others in the medical field.”

The Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation is a non-profit organization that began in 1934 to purchase Federal Housing Administration (FHA)-guaranteed loans following the Great Depression to stimulate Wisconsin’s agricultural economy. Today, WROF invests in the education of people from rural Wisconsin so they can transform and improve the economic health and quality of life in their rural areas.

The Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation once again awarded five scholarships to attendees of the recent PDPW Cornerstone Dairy Academy™. About Pam Jahnke

Getting up at 2 in the morning might shock some of her listeners, but for Pam Jahnke, it’s part of the business. Born in Northeastern Wisconsin, Pam Jahnke grew up in agriculture. Raised on her family’s 200-acre dairy farm, she learned the “farm work ethic” first hand.
