What’s cuter than a puppy? Why, a new lamb or baby alpaca, of course. On Saturday, March 19th, 10:30AM to 12:30 PM, adults and children will be able to meet cuddly farm babies, as well as a few of the hundreds of Wisconsin growers who make it their business to welcome families to their farms for a variety of on-farm activities.
This event celebrates the start of National Agriculture Week. “We’re glad to partner with the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center for this “meet and greet” event,” said Sheila Everhart, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Agricultural Tourism Association (WATA). “More and more Wisconsin farmers are opening their barns, fields, vineyards and orchards to visitors throughout the year,” Everhart, “and this Center is a hands-on, interactive way to learn about the impact of agriculture on our state.”
WATA’s website, www.wiagtourism.com, makes it easy to find an agricultural tourism experience every month of the year. “Our members include wineries, petting zoos, barn event spaces, orchards and berry operations. Farmers, large and small, offer corn mazes, pumpkin patches, pasture walks, and more,” said Everhart.
