Keep Dairy Processing In Mind

The pandemic is here to stay, and so are labor shortages and supply chain disruptions for Wisconsin’s dairy producers.

Chad Vincent, CEO of Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, says farmers need to know what happens to their milk after it leaves the driveway.

With the current labor shortages, processing plants are struggling to fill first and second shifts. Because of this, he says some plants may decide to decrease their production and overall intake of milk.

He says that the decision to expand your farm isn’t just yours anymore – farmers have to know whether their processor is in growth mode or not to determine if they will have the ability to last into the future.
