UW-River Falls Cancels Big Dairy Event

For the second year in a row, the Dairy Science Club at UW-River Falls has decided to cancel the Midwest Regional American Dairy Science Association (ADSA) Conference amid COVID-19 concerns. The conference was scheduled for January 28th-30th, 2022.

Club representatives Katie Yahnke, Lacey Nelson and Rachel Moore stated that “The UWRF Chancellor, Dr. Maria Gallo, and senior leadership met Tuesday, January 18th to discuss the conference, specifically as it related to the safety of the campus, conference guests, and the surrounding community” in a letter sent to dairy club representatives.

Following the meeting, senior leadership asked the ADSA committee to cancel the event to be consistent with University policy, as other events hosted by the UWRF campus in January and early February have been canceled or postponed as well.

The ADSA committee is considering hosting a virtual event later this year for dairy clubs that would have otherwise been in attendance.
