When planning Thanksgiving dinner with my family, I got to thinking about the delicious food we would be consuming. I was starting to feel hungry and then I got curious about how much Thanksgiving dinner will cost this year.
According to the American Farm Bureau, the average cost of preparing Thanksgiving dinner in 2020 was about $47. This year, a Thanksgiving feast for about 10 people, will run you $53.31 according to the Farm Bureau’s annual Thanksgiving Survey.
The American Farm Bureau also provides some prices on a few Thanksgiving staple items. Turkey will cost about $23.99, dinner rolls $3.05 and cranberries $2.98.
Also, many baking goods are being affected by ongoing shipping delays, which means fewer items are getting to store shelves, driving up prices even more.
This year’s Thanksgiving dinner will not keep your stomach empty, but rather take a toll your wallet.
