For nearly 30 years, GROWMARK, an agricultural cooperative headquartered in Bloomington, Illinois, has sponsored an essay contest for high school FFA members in select Midwestern states. As their business footprint has grown, GROWMARK is excited to announce that this year the essay contest is open to all high school FFA members nationwide!
This year’s topic for the essay contest is ‘What, in your opinion, has changed for the better in the agricultural industry as a result of the pandemic?’ The COVID-19 pandemic caused changes previously unheard of across the globe. No industry or aspect of “normal” life was untouched. While there are certainly negative repercussions, many positive things have also come out of the last several years, especially in agriculture. Students can choose one of these positive outcomes and explain how it has changed agriculture for the better.
Schools may submit one essay; however, no more than two students from the same state will be selected for
the top five awards. Students must be FFA members in good standing to be eligible for awards. Essay length should be no more than 500 words.
Essays should be submitted online and are due by midnight Central time on October 29, 2021. More information will be available on their website (www.growmark.com) and on social media (@GROWMARK and @FSServices).
