Pass The Ketchup Please, Please

Evan Lampsa is the cofounder of Ketchup Please, an organic, no sugar added, handcrafted ketchup company in Wisconsin. New at the Wisconsin Products Pavilion at the Wisconsin State Fair, the startup is offering ketchup samples with a goal of improving people’s lives.

Lampsa had made homemade ketchup with his grandmother in the past. That experience and undergoing heart surgery made him want to pursue a healthier ketchup option. So, he and his business partner deleted the sugar and after more than 80 recipes, found one that got an A+ from high school peers.

While the company gets its tomatoes from California, the team is proud to produce the ketchup in Wisconsin. Lampsa says Wisconsin — his home state — is a great place to start a business. He says residents are willing to support local, niche businesses.
