Innovation Square: Featuring 5 Premier Ag Businesses in Wis.

If there was one visit I hope everyone made was to Innovation Square at Farm Technology Days. Wisconsin truly is blessed with a diverse and astounding agriculture. Innovation Square highlighted five local ag businesses and their products from planting to harvesting and growing.

Here’s a quick overview for those who missed Innovation Square or just couldn’t make it out to the show.

Chippewa Valley Bean is a premier kidney growing company. They are the largest provider of red kidney beans in the world. Shown here is a field of beans, harvesting equipment and processing equipment.

Marieke Gouda is a line of award-winning gouda cheese. They show-cased the cheese making process, as well as had samples to try.

Superior Fresh is the largest aquaponics farm in the United States. Farming the Atlantic Salmon helps feed the lettuce they also grow. With this growing combination 1/30th of the water is used to grow the lettuce when compared to the land required by traditional lettuce farms.

Silver Spring is the world’s largest grower and processor of horseradish. The blue machine is specially built for their farm. It’s the Huntsinger Horseradish harvester.

Ferguson’s Orchards is one of the largest apple growers in the mid-west. Taste testing their Pizazz apple was delicous!
