It’s almost time for the Northern Wisconsin State Fair, July 7-11, 2021 in Chippewa Falls, Wis. This is one of the earliest fairs in the state and most farmers will be wrapping up second crop hay so what better way to take some time away from the farm than with a little day trip to the fair?
Friends will be visiting us on the weekend therefore we will most likely attend on Wednesday when I am off of work anyways. Even for it being the first day of the fair, the schedule of events looks to be quite worthwhile. I personally am going to see the exhibits. As a 4-Her, I still have so much appreciation for the work that goes into the projects. Well, and enjoy some good food.
To start the day, a mid morning snack will be had at Lucy’s Eatery in Chippewa Falls downtown.
Of course some fair food will be had throughout the afternoon and to finish the evening ice cream served up at Olson’s, also downtown Chippewa Falls.
Outside of eating all day long, there are some great events on Wednesday:
- River Valley Pedal Tractor Pull 1-3 pm
- North of Dixie Bluegrass Band 4-7 pm
- Northern Wisconsin Show Us Your Talent Show 5:30-7 pm
- Trace Adkins 8 pm
Here is a link to all of the events, including on Wednesday: https://www.nwsfa.com/p/northern-wisconsin-state-fair/daily-schedule—wednesday-july-7th
We’ll take in the beef cattle show at 1 pm and likely head to the WQOW News 18 Science and Technology Exhibits in Expo Hall B. The main attraction here is the Ag Cab Lab. This is a simulation in a Case Maxxum tractor cab that allows you to try your hand at farming. Will I be able to get my tractor loving almost 2 year old out of it though?
Lastly, if you’re going for the livestock and animal exhibits or 4-H related things and arrive earlier in the morning, park in the East Parking Lot, off of State street. It’s closer to these buildings and less busy.
