Wisconsin Honey Queen sweetens title becoming 2021 American Honey Queen

Taking her passion for promotion and education to the national level, Jennifer Hinkel of Franklin, Wis. became the American Honey Queen Friday.

Hinkel is the 23-year-old daughter of Bill Hinkel. She’s a 2019 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing with a certificate in entrepreneurship.

Hinkel currently works for the Wisconsin State Fair as the Agriculture Education and Communication Coordinator as well as on her family’s pumpkin and Christmas tree farm.

The American Honey Princess is Virginia Allen from Texas. Allen began beekeeping in 2014 through the Collin County Hobby Beekeepers Association Youth Scholarship Program. She is working toward her bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Hinkel and Allen will take the torch from American Honey Queen Mary Reisinger of Texas and American Honey Princess Sydnie Paulsrud of Chippewa Falls, Wis.

Despite COVID-19, the program educated in all 50 states last year with in-person and virtual opportunities.
