In 2020, Fond du Lac County was the largest winter wheat producing county in Wisconsin with 688,000 bushels produced, according to estimates released today by the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service.
Dane and Dodge were second and third in 2020 production with 667,000 and 654,000 bushels, respectively.
The highest yielding county was Dane County with a yield of 83.5 bushels per acre. Dodge and Columbia Counties had the next two highest yields at 82.0 and 79.0 bushels, respectively. Juneau County had the lowest yield at 46.0 bushels per acre.
The largest increase in yield came in Oconto County with an increase of 19.4 bushels per acre. Iowa County showed the largest drop in yield from the previous year, with a decrease of 5.2 bushels per acre.

In 2020, Marathon County was the largest oat-producing county in Wisconsin at 621,000 bushels, according to estimates released today by the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service. Manitowoc was the second largest producing county with 544,000 bushels, followed by Langlade with 534,000 bushels.
Calumet County had the highest yield in the state with 83.2 bushels per acre. Fond du Lac County had the second highest yield at 77.4 and Langlade County had the third highest yield at 76.0 bushels per acre. Outagamie County had the greatest increase in yield from 2019, at 21.0 bushels.
The lowest yielding county was Rusk at 37.4 bushels per acre. Trempealeau had the second lowest yield at 46.7, and Barron was the third lowest at 48.5 bushels per acre. Winnebago had the largest decrease in yield from 2019 at 27.4 bushels.
