If you’re looking to fill your freezer – look to Waushara County this week!
“Let’s Show Waushara” was created as an on-line auction opportunity for youth from Waushara currently holding livestock that would’ve been exhibited at the county fair. Jenne Aton tells the Midwest Farm Report that they’ll auction 65 animals to interested buyers – all on-line. 13 lambs, 21 beef and 31 hogs will be for sale to the highest bidder. Aton also wants to make sure all participants understand that 100% of the proceeds go directly to the youth.
Every animal that sells has already been slotted for harvest at three area processors and meat should be ready by mid-September.
Buyers should also note they’re working on a tax deduction on your purchase after accounting for the difference between your bid and market value.
The auction is “live” beginning at 8 p.m. on Monday, August 17th and conclude with the highest bids on Wednesday, August 19th at 8 p.m.
Go to the “Let’s Show Waushara” link once it’s active, and start supporting local kids and filling your freezer!

Love this, wish more of these online auctions would have taken place to support the kids for next year. Thank you to all the businesses supporting the kids.
