The Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board has presented Cayley Vande Berg of Eldorado, Wis. with their 2020 $1,000 dairy youth scholarship. Vande Berg is a Senior at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls studying Dairy Science with an Agricultural Business minor.
Vande Berg has an extensive list of accolades and achievements, including serving as the current Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs, the official hostess of the Wisconsin State Fair. Upon graduation, she hopes to continue to be a voice for agriculture and the dairy industry while pursing her passion of working closing with dairy animals.
“It is a core pillar of our organization to provide recognition to outstanding dairy cattle and goat youth, usually during the Wisconsin State Fair. While year’s Wisconsin State Fair was not held in person, it gives the dairy promotion board great joy to continue to provide support and scholarships for deserving youth,”, stated Nicole Barlass, President of the Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board.
The Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board is made up of individuals passionate about promoting Wisconsin’s $45.6 billion dairy industry during the Wisconsin State Fair. Providing educational opportunities for attendees with its interactive Dairy Lane exhibit and cow and goat milking demonstrations while also managing the Real Wisconsin Cheese Grill and Blue Ribbon Dairy Products Auction, the board helps fund scholarships for students pursuing careers in the dairy industry, and offers volunteer opportunities for dairy youth to get involved.
