On July 10th, 2020 the Wisconsin FFA concluded their first ever Online State Convention by announcing the 2020-2021 Officer Team. Joe Schlies, originating from the Denmark FFA Chapter was named President. Joe explains the unbelievable feeling that being the State FFA President has, “I couldn’t be more grateful, couldn’t be more excited for this upcoming year.”
The 2019-2020 officer team did their very best to adapt to the changing situations and presented an engaging State Convention to Wisconsin FFA Members. Joe reflected on the past year saying, “This past year has been amazing, even with all the stuff that happened this past spring, there hasn’t been a single thing that I’d like to re-do.”
The process that FFA Members have to go through to be elected as a state officer had to be changed this year due to having a Virtual State Convention. But the state FFA staff created a process that dealt with the same topics and skills, just in a different format. Joe is looking forward to serving with his ten new teammates and getting to know even more Wisconsin FFA Members.
