Upham Woods Outdoor Learning Center was founded in 1941 and has hosted camps since 1938. Ever since the beginning, the traditions and memories have only gotten more exciting. Located just north of the Wisconsin Dells, Upham Woods hosts more than 12,000 kids a year.
This year almost all of the Camps at Upham Woods have had to be canceled. The camp has been able to host some day camping and they hope to resume over night camping experiences this fall. However, Virtual Programs have been utilized to reach campers that are missing camp this summer. The Conservation Challenge, has been converted due to the pandemic to be available for anyone to take part in from their own homes. The goal is 10,000 hours of conservation efforts.
The lack of campers at Upham Woods this summer is going to have lasting effects into the future. The fees for the camp are what the camp uses to make improvements and build better programs for the future. Upham Woods is looking forward to bringing campers back in person and continuing to create lasting memories.
