Although these unforeseen circumstances posed many challenges, the Collegiate Farm Bureau at UW-Madison elected the 2020-21 officer team during an online banquet on Wednesday, May 13th.
Members were able to tune in at 7:00 p.m. to contribute to the annual banquet while remaining safe in their own homes.
Taylor Gracyalny, of Pulaski, Wis., was elected as the president. With majors in Dairy Science and Life Sciences Communication, along with an Agricultural Business Management Certificate, Taylor will be a senior this fall who stays very busy in the classroom. She is spending her
summer working at Saputo Cheese Inc. out of Milwaukee, Wis., as a Retail Deli/Specialty Marketing Intern. Taylor is ready to step up to her role as president, and is excited to grow involvement in CFB and share our club’s passion for agriculture with the UW-Madison campus.
Lindsey Sarbacker, from Stoughton, Wis., will be serving as the next vice president for the 2020-21 school year. Lindsey is a senior who also works very hard in her education double majoring in Dairy Science and Life Science Communications with a certificate in Agricultural
Business Management. She is staying busy this summer working for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection agency as a Food Export Intern. Lindsey is looking forward to executing fun and educational study tours that showcase Wisconsin’s diverse
agricultural industry to actively engage our membership.
Serving as secretary is Sabrina Servais from Stoddard, Wis., who will be a junior this coming school year. Sabrina is dedicated to her education double majoring in Dairy Science and Life Sciences Communication, along with a certificate in Agricultural Business Management. She is working hard on her family’s dairy farm for the summer as well as taking a few summer classes through the university. Sabrina is not exactly sure what job career she would like to pursue, but she plans to stay involved in agriculture.
Ashley Nelson, of Forest Lake, Minn., will serve as treasurer this fall as a senior. Ashley is studying Biochemistry and Plant Pathology and plans on attending graduate school after graduation to focus on crop disease research. This summer she will be completing an Internship with Land O’Lakes in their agribusiness WinField United as a microbiology research intern.
Serving as the director of ag in the classroom this fall will be Olivia Spaight of Waterford, Wis. Olivia is a sophomore who dedicates her studies to Dairy Science along with a certificate in Agricultural Business Management. Olivia is spending her summer working hard at home raising market lambs and enjoying all of the time she can get with her family. Olivia intends to use her knowledge and communication skills to find a career in the dairy industry working directly with farmers.
Zachary Wiegel, of Shullsburg, Wis., will serve as the director of public relations as a sophomore this fall. He is eager to communicate with students on campus on what Collegiate Farm Bureau is all about. Zach is majoring in Agricultural Business Management and is spending his summer working at Russell Bros. Farms of Shullsburg, Wis., as well as working part time at Wedig Organic Farms of Cuba City, Wis. Zach plans to use his education and
communication skills to obtain a job in agricultural sales.
UW-Madison dairy science faculty associate, Ted Halbach , will continue serving as the Collegiate Farm Bureau advisor.
