If you witnessed an egg shortage at the beginning of the covid-19 situation, Wisconsin poultry producers have been working to catch up!
Wisconsin egg production during April 2020 was
191 million eggs, up 2% from last month and up 9% from
last year, according to the latest Chickens and Eggs report
from the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.
The average number of all layers on hand during April
2020 was 7.57 million, up 2% from last month and up 4%
from last year.
Eggs per 100 layers for April were 2,521,
down less than 1% from last month but up 5% from last
year.
