Middle and high school students are invited to participate in an online agriculture related invitational May 27-30 through the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
UW-River Falls’ annual Agricultural Technology Contest usually brings middle and high school agriculture students together from across Minnesota and Wisconsin to compete in 18 different agriculture-related contests. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the 2020 Agricultural Technology Contest scheduled for early April was canceled.
As an alternative, the Agricultural Education Department at UW-River Falls has organized an online invitational set for May 27-30 with categories in Agricultural Communications, Livestock, Farm Business Management, Nursery and Landscape, and more. The contest is open to all middle and high school students across the country. Registration is $5 per student and is open now through May 26 at https://www.judgingcard.com/registration/info.aspx?ID=11285.
Materials for the contest were developed by UWRF faculty and students, including Professor Tim Buttles’ Supervision of Work Experience and Youth Organizations course and Professor Bonnie Walters’ Food Science Senior Seminar course, as well as with assistance from professors Simon Jette Nantel, Sonja Maki, Justin Luther, Arquimides Reyes, and David Zlesak.
