It’s been stated before and it will be stated again: FFA is reaching the absolute pinnacle in terms of what it is capable of during these tough times. As Wisconsin agriculture continues to hurt, FFA members and chapters all around the state have stepped up and answered the call for help. We have seen everything from donating milk to food pantries to selling yard signs with messages of support for farmers.
Elizabeth Katzman, Vice President of Whitewater FFA, decided to join in on the relief efforts on April 23rd by selling “Support Dairy” yard signs in the Whitewater area. Fast forward roughly two weeks and Katzman’s idea has ballooned into something massive. In the first day, she blew past her initial hope of selling 100 signs and now has 700 signs accounted for.
According to a Facebook post by Elizabeth’s mother, Katy, signs have been delivered everywhere “from Lake Geneva to Poynette to New Glarus.” The post continues by saying Elizabeth “has been receiving inquiries from all over the state, and a woman from California even sent her a note of encouragement, along with a generous donation…a shoutout to Farmerboy Customs LLC, Triebold Implement, Inc. and HealthMarkets Insurance- Jean Linos for sponsoring the next 100 signs!”
If you would like to order a sign you can email Elizabeth at [email protected] and expect contactless delivery to your home or business. To hear Josh Scramlin speak with Elizabeth on the Mid-West Farm Report click the play button below:
