When the young bulls showed up at the UW-Platteville farm nobody knew that covid-19 was going to unfold. Still – good genetics are good genetics and beef producers across the upper Midwest were willing to use technology to get their bids in Saturday.

Specific Breed Information:
Allan Arndt, Double A Simmentals, Janesville, WI consigned the top selling animal in the sale. Simmental bull, Lot #5, a WS All Around son, sold to Greg Vannatta, Lancaster, WI for $5,750. Simmental Lot # 17 was the second-high selling Simmental bull. Mike Stapleton, Hartford, WI purchased that bull a TNT Tanker U263 son for $3,500.
Two bulls tied for the top selling Angus in the sale. Johnson Family Cattle Co., Shawano, WI sold lot 48 a Connealy Confidence Plus son for $5,000 to Quentin Shieldknight, from Spearman, Texas. Kuhle Family Farm, Hazel Green, WI consigned the other high selling Angus bull, a Byergo Black Magic 3348 son, lot #29. This bull is staying in Wisconsin and is going to Johnson Cattle Company in Janesville. Johnson Family Cattle Co., Shawano, WI also sold the second-high selling Angus bull, another Connealy Confidence Plus son, to Quentin Shieldknight from Spearman, Texas. That bull bought $4,750.
MacLeish Heritage Farms, Inc. from Merrimac, WI, purchased both the high selling and second high selling Red Angus bulls at the sale. Lot #52, a Jacobson Fire 7080 son consigned by Gibson Stock Farm, Elgin, IA sold for $4,000. Lot #59, a PFFR Convoy 9Z son, was consigned by UW Platteville Pioneer Farm and sold for $3,800.
Lundell 5 Red Angus, Livingston, WI consigned all three Simm/Angus cross bulls. Lot 49, a GSC GCCO Dew North 102C son, sold to Ricochet Farms, Inc., Elkhorn, WI for $3,250. The second-high selling Simm/Angus cross bull sold to Greg Sacia from Holmen, WI for $3,000.00. W/C Hat Trick 2101D was the sire of Lot #64 and sold for $3,000.
