USDA to re-survey corn, soybean farmers in spring

Upper Midwest corn and soybean growers will be re-surveyed in the spring to determine the final numbers where the corn and soybean harvests are concerned.

Growers in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, North Dakota and South Dakota who’d previously told the U.S. Department of Agriculture that they had unharvested corn and soybeans will be contacted by the department’s National Agricultural Statistics Service in the spring to update figures released Jan. 10.

Estimates of grain stocks also will be revised in the spring, along with acreages harvested, yields and production.
